Catching up & Homecoming!

The school year is off to a good start!  The girls had a great time at the high school homecoming game & dance.  The summer flew by with camping trips at Sylvan Lake, Twin Lakes, and Steamboat.  We also enjoyed a nice visit from Shanti's mom Evie, Peter, Robbie & Ann, and Shanti drove out to meet them camping in Utah earlier this month.  Shilah is still taking many dance classes as well as teaching a couple, and Serena loves playing soccer!

TSA & snow

Denver got hit with a huge March storm-- we got 35 inches!

Super proud of Serena and her TSA (Technology Student Association) group! As co-president and captain of all 5 of her events, she and her teams placed 1st, 2nd & 3rd in three events and their school earned 34 medals overall! Serena worked so hard and showed leadership in a time when it’s been harder to be academically productive. She's been keeping up with her soccer as well.

Shilah is still busy with dance & Poms & her boyfriend.  Both girls have been continuing hybrid learning for school and hope to be back in-person 4 days per week next month!

Quarantine & Summer!

Wow, it's been a while since I've posted!  Hard to believe we are in the middle of a pandemic.  The girls did great finishing school, dance, & soccer virtually.  Shanti has been working from home and will continue that through at least August.  I recently reopened my fitness studio (after spending over 2 months live streaming classes from my basement) with strict safety & ventilation guidelines; being a small business owner during these times has been one of the most stressful experiences of my life.  But I've survived so far!

With warmer weather, we've been socializing with friends outdoors.  Despite the political division, we are strong supporters of wearing masks and following the science-based recommendations.  It's sad that a public health crisis has become so politicized.

On another note, here are some pictures of some of our outdoor summer adventures so far!

State Competitions

Both girls won medals at Colorado state competitions recently!  Serena for her TSA elective (Technology Student Association) and Shilah for her HOSA club (future health professionals).
