Daddy's Home!

Shanti got back from another work trip last night, and it was another happy homecoming! Below are some pics my dad took while he was here visiting...

Sesame Street Sleepover

Here is Serena with the cast of Sesame Street! Her last 4 non-molar teeth have finally poked through (barely). She has been really trying to put together sentences, and sometimes we can even understand what she's saying.

At the Zoo

On Tuesday I brought the girls to the zoo and we met up with Uncle Gabe & Grandma Evie. Emory was sick, so Andrea had to stay home with him & Lily. We had a lot of fun watching all the animals! Later we picked up Shanti from work and all met up for dinner at Gabe's. Serena enjoyed "holding" baby Lily. Thanks to all the grandparents for fun visits!

Grandma Evie's Hotel

We had a lot of fun hanging out at Grandma Evie's hotel and playing on the mini golf course! Serena had so much fun swimming-- she has no fear. The best part for the cousins was just running all around! My parents left Monday and Shanti's mom left today, and it was so great to see them!

Last-Minute House Party

Today was supposed to be Shilah's gymnastics birthday party at the local rec center, but this morning we got some bad news that all parties were cancelled due to the aftermath of the snow storm. Shilah actually wasn't upset at all, thank goodness. It was pretty hectic contacting the guests, some of whom were still without power & phone service. I had made all this food & birthday cake, so last-minute we decided to invite some family & a couple of friends over for lunch & cake. My parents were still in town, and Shanti's mom flew in last night, so Shilah was very excited to have TWO grandmas at her party! The weather was beautiful & melted about 1/2 the snow that had accumulated over the past 2 days. Shilah had fun sledding & playing in the snow tunnel. Notice Serena in the 4th pic down laying across the table to get to the dip. Everything worked out OK!

More Storm Pics

Well we ended up with 3 feet of snow. Some storm! Shilah had fun crawling through snow tunnels, and Serena liked staying inside & playing. We lost power for 6 hours today, and had to put some refrigerator items out in the snow on our deck. We were lucky, as some areas had well over 4 feet and have been without power for over 24 hours and counting. It was nice having our little wood stove heat our house for the last 2 days!

Spring Storm

It's that time of year for the usual Colorado April snow storm! We have almost 2 feet, with another foot predictied over night. Haven't lost power yet, although neighboring mountain areas have had some problems. Cosmo loves the snow, and the birds love hanging out in our birdfeeder for shelter. And the kitties have no problem curling up inside to keep warm!

Grandparents in Town!

We have been enjoying a nice visit with Grandma Sho-Sho and Grandpa Rick! They left yesterday to stay with my brother, but we will see them again before they leave.

Hanging with the Fam

Here are some pics of a bunch of family hanging out at Uncle Gabe's. Shilah loves to hold her baby cousins Lily & Samuel! Cousin Tiffany's sister, Stephanie (2nd pic down), and her daughter Corinne were in town visiting, along with my parents. The third picture down is one of all the cousins that were there (plus Gabe to keep them in line).
Shilah has had a rough few weeks... pooping in the litter box, lighting her hair on fire, and getting a short, deep cut right next to her eye (thank goodness no stitches necessary). Interesting stories for later!

Shanti's Webinar

Shanti & his boss gave a webinar (an online seminar) today on a design guide for energy efficiency in schools. Very neat! Here is a link to it: www.energysmartschools.gov/aedg_webinar.html

Happy 4th Birthday, Shilah!

Shilah celebrated her 4th birthday yesterday! I went & volunteered at her school during her class, and brought cupcakes for the class snack. Shilah was so excited to get a birthday crown & have her class sing to her! Then we came home and had a birthday dinner, with family and a few friends. Below is Shilah with Uncle Keith, then Uncle Gabe & Lily, then Cousin Tiffany, baby Samuel, & Emory. Thank you for all the neat gifts, especially the "big girl" bike from Gabe & family! And Shilah had her 4-year check up a few days ago-- she has grown much taller! She is 48th percentile for weight and 65th percentile for height.
