This week is spring break for Shilah's school, and it's been an eventful one so far! The weather has been very nice, and we've had some fun playing in the remaining snow. I also taught a country theme class (Shilah had fun trying on the hat). Serena had her first hair trim from someone besides me and she did great!
Yesterday I took the girls to see a production of Robin Hood at Heritage Square. It was so fun since it was totally geared towards kids. Afterwards at the park, Shilah had an accident and ran into a metal chain (across her neck) then fell backwards and hit her head on the gravel. So... we ended up spending the next few hours in the ER. Thankfully everything was OK and she is doing great! (back to normal fighting & playing with Serena).

Family Pic!
These days, a family pic of the four of us is rare! Here we are at a birthday party for one of our friend's sons. At least 3 of us are smiling :-)
And here I am with some of my friends I regularly meet up with for a girls nights out: Kaye, Andrea, Laura & Deb (sisters), and their mom Marlene who was in town visiting.

Spring Storm #2
Tuesday night we go whopped again! This storm was more harsh because of the wind & blizzard-like conditions (and it came much more quickly). We got the same amount of snow, a little over a foot.
Shanti was on a work trip in Tennessee and got stuck in Chicago Tuesday night (his plane was on the way to Denver but got turned around because of the Denver storm). But we're glad he's home safe now!
The girls & I had a fun snowy morning (schools were canceled again today). We made this cool tissue-paper rainbow.
I had a workout shoveling the driveway & stairs this morning, as well as hauling wood inside to build a fire in case we lost power. Westy & Cosmo appreciated my efforts!
And the afternoon turned out to be beautiful...
Spring Storm #1
On Friday we got hit with a little over a foot of snow. Schools were canceled (which means I cancel Jazzercise classes), so we all had a family fun snow day!
Shilah & Serena love playing in the snow...

It's nice we have our own little sledding hill in the backyard:

Westy loves hanging out on our deck, even during a storm!

More Pics from the Family Visit
Here is the last round of pics of the visit from Claire, Tamara, & Cheyenne. The cousins had a great time taking a bath together!

Riding on Uncle Shanti, AKA Daddy:
All 5 cousins sitting (kind of) together for 3 seconds:

Aunt Claire is a natural!
We had a couple of yummy dinners at Uncle Gabe's:

We miss you guys already! What a little doll Cheyenne is :-)

Aunt Tamara, Cousin Cheyenne, & Aunt Claire!
We had so much fun visiting with Shanti's sisters over the last week! (Anica, we missed you!)
Shilah & Serena had so much fun with their cousin Cheyenne. Happy belated St. Patty's Day!
Shilah "talking on the phone" on our deck while Cheyenne sits next to her...
We've had some great weather the past few days. Yesterday we went to the zoo in wonderful springtime weather. However, we are bracing ourselves for a predicted 22 inches of snow by Friday night!

A cute kissing cousins moment...
At the zoo we also enjoyed some ice cream...
Serena's ice cream goatie...

A trip to the zoo wouldn't be complete without a ride on the carousel!

After the zoo we went to Gabe & Andrea's for dinner. Here is a rare moment with 4 cousins sitting on the couch...

Uncle Gabe, the playground...

We have LOTS more pics, so stay tuned for more!
Kids Say the Cutest Things: Shanti got me one of my favorite flowers for my birthday, a hyacinth. When I told Shilah the name of the flower, she said, "Is it because they grow tall?" I think she's been listening to too many of Grandpa Rick's jokes.
