Swim Lessons

On Friday Shilah started her first swim lesson! We knew she was finally ready when she stopped freaking out at bath time and was comfortable putting her face in the water & blowing bubbles. She was so excited, especially since her good friend Sadie is taking lessons with her.
Serena had fun hanging out with me in the pool during the 1/2 hour lesson.

Family Nights

Since most of our days are spent running from place to place, playing, & dancing-- we look forward to the evenings when we can relax as a family. One of our favorite things to do is make popcorn & watch a nature show. We love the Planet Earth and Water Life series!
Cosmo enjoys this time as well, even with a pile of stuffed animals on top of him.

Daddy's Home!

Shanti traveled to Iowa & Kansas for a couple of days last week, and this week he was in Austin, Texas for a few days. He got to see one of his good friends from high school (and his friend's family), so that was neat for him!

Baby Boogie

On Sunday we went to D'Note in Arvada for "Baby Boogie." Every Sunday afternoon this restaurant sets up kid music toys on stage and the kids can run wild! We enjoyed gourmet pizza and some drinks. It was nice to meet up with Gabe & family!

They Like to Move It

Shilah & Serena's new favorite song is "I Like To Move It" (from the movie Madagascar). Here they are dancing together and showing their moves. Serena's laugh is the best!

Sun & Snow

We had a stretch of mild winter weather for a while, but now it's very cold & frosty! Westy enjoys both basking in the sun and hanging out in the snow.

Roller Skating

On Thursday we met our playgroup at Skate City for some roller skating. The girls have never done this before, and they really enjoyed it! Their skates were "locked," meaning the wheels are tightened so they don't spin as fast. After a 15 minute "warm-up" with parents, the employees took all the kids and gave them pointers on how to roller skate. The kids got to do the limbo, YMCA, and even got a cookie & lemonade at the end. It was really cute to watch!
Serena did pretty well, but wanted to skate with me rather than do the lesson. She did go off by herself when it was cookie time, though :-)

Animal House

Serena LOVES her stuffed animals and animal figures. Her favorite thing to do (besides puzzles) is to make families of animals out of her collections. She has parent/baby sets of elephants, kitties, cows, zebras, polar bears, unicorns, and of course puppies.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Last night Shanti took all of his sweethearts out for dinner. Then we came back home and watched a family movie- fun!

School "Sleepover"

Shilah's enrichment class held a pretend sleepover last week, where kids could wear pajamas to school and bring their favorite stuffed animal & blanket. Shilah's homework project for this day was to decorate a treasure box filled with a few of her smallest favorite trinkets. It's too bad adults don't get days like this anymore!
