Kids Say the Cutest Things: While we were driving, I pointed out a single horse in a pasture. Shilah said to me, "There’s only the mama horse because the daddy horse is at work." So we had a talk about how sometimes mommies go to work too, and that all parents work whether they go to an office or not :-)

Fun on the Floor

Here are some pics of Shilah & Serena having fun laying on the floor next to one another. Today Serena kept saying over & over, "I love Shilah." Those are the moments parents live for!

Babies Are Us

Shilah & Serena love their baby dolls! Here is Shilah with doll triplets in one stroller. Even Westy gets in on the doll action. As you can see from the second pic, Serena also likes using her doll's head as a notepad (there are scribbles all over).

One and a Half Years Old

Serena turned 18 months old yesterday! She copies almost everything Shilah says & does-- it's so cute. Just like Shilah, she loves to sing & dance!

Sledding in the Backyard

Yesterday Gabe, Andrea & Emory came over for a few hours to hang out. We had a few inches of snow on the ground, and Emory & Shilah had so much fun sledding in our backyard! Today we got pounded with 9 inches of snow, but there were blue skies most of the day in Denver. What a difference 3,000 feet can make!

Funny Faces

Serena is part elf, as you can see from this picture. If you're wondering why her pajamas are always unzipped, she has this constant need to rub her bare belly. We love our little Plessling elves!

Doll Potty Training 101

Yesterday the girls and I were playing in the basement, and Serena runs up to me yelling "Potty!" So I got all excited thinking she wanted to go on the potty. I follow her into the bathroom, and she points to the toilet, yelling "potty" again. I look and... there's a doll in the toilet (luckily only the feet got wet). So we got out Shilah's old kiddie potty, and Serena has started putting her dolls on this one. I guess this is a good lesson for parents to always keep the toilet lid down.

Cute Little Dresses

Shilah & Serena are definitely girly girls and love to wear dresses. Serena has just started to say Shilah's name, and it's so cute! Sometimes they say each other's names back & forth.

A Fun Visit

My parents leave early tomorrow to go back to Buffalo. Serena had fun working on her animal flash cards with Grandpa Rick, and Shilah had fun shopping with Grandma Sho Sho. We'll miss having them around!

Petsitting

For the last couple of weeks we have been taking care of our friends' pets: a sweet dog named Casey, and a guinea pig named Spot. Shilah has been doing a great job of feeding the guinea pig carrots all by herself! Cosmo is sad since Casey goes home today...

Last night Shanti and I went to dinner with my brother Keith & his fiancee Lauren. Then we came back home and had fun playing games with them and my parents. Wishing everyone a happy, healthy & peaceful 2009!
