Yesterday Shilah's playgroup had a Halloween party that was lots of fun! And Serena is growing more and more every day. She's been drooling up a storm lately, which makes me think she might have some early teeth coming in. Serena has also disceovered that she has hands, and she likes to examine them and suck on her fingers. Fun!

Party Weekend

Well it certainly was a party weekend! Friday was Emory's birthday party, and yesterday was Shilah's friend Alex's birthday & Halloween party. Shilah went as a chicken (she kept her costume on for about 5 minutes). Serena was a jack-o-lantern with a dimple. Emory looked very cute as a tiger, and Alex was adorable as a fairy!

SOX up 3-0

DENVER --Daisuke Matsuzaka hit a two-run single during Boston's big outburst and pitched three-hit ball into the sixth to lead the Red Sox to a 10-5 victory over the Colorado Rockies and a commanding 3-0 lead in the World Series. The Red Sox moved within one victory of their second Series sweep in four seasons following an 86-year drought.

Emory the Birthday Boy

Yesterday we went to a party celebrating our nephew Emory's first birthday. It was also a party to celebrate Gabe and Andrea surviving a year of parenting-- yeah!!! Shilah had fun in the balloon pit, playing with her friends Maggie & Alex, unwrapping cousin Emory's presents, & decorating her own cupcake. Shanti had fun posing Serena next to beer bottles :)

Little Friends

Last Saturday we went to a Halloween party and Shilah got to play with her friend Alex. They're very cute together! Shilah can't wait to be able to play with Serena too!

The Sling

Sisters

It looks like Serena is going to have reddish hair and blue eyes... a little different from our brown-eyed Shilah!

Pumpkin Carving

Last night we carved our Halloween pumpkin. Shilah had fun helping to pull out the seeds, and she had even more fun eating them after we baked them in the oven!

Serena's Ab Workout

Serena has been crunching her abs lately in an effort to sit up. She's pretty strong! She also loves to do lap standing, and sometimes she's just stiff as a board. Serena has also let out a few giggles recently in addition to her cooing. Pretty soon she'll be laughing!

Ready for Winter

Snow again this past weekend! Serena seems to like being bundled up, and Shilah has been having a blast in the snow. She especially likes pulling her doll in the sled.
We've finally established a routine for Shilah's naptime. She used to only go to sleep from a car ride or me laying down with her. Now we call it "quiet time." We read a book together, and when I leave the room Shilah reads a little to herself and falls asleep. The bonus is when Serena sleeps at the same time!

Winter in October

Last weekend we got a few inches of snow at our house! It's not uncommon to have at least one snowstorm in Colorado in October. But usually the sun comes out the next day and melts it all away!

Monster Mash

3 Months Old!

Serena is 3 months old today! She has been doing great in terms of sleeping & eating. Serena definitely eats more than Shilah did at her age. And the smiles continue to light up our days!

Daddy's playgroup

Friday night Shanti went to the Great American Brew Fest in Denver with Gabe and a few of Gabe's friends who flew in from back East. It's basically 5 hours of beer drinking where you sample beers from all over the country. Needless to say, it was a wild night! When Shilah asked where daddy was, I told her he was at his playgroup :)
Sunday we went over to Gabe's house to watch football, and we also had a suprise birthday party for Andrea. Shilah had a blast playing catch with, reading with, and riding on Uncle Gabe! She also had fun playing with her friends Maggie & Alex. Sometimes Serena is so mellow I forget she's there!

Cosmo, the Family Dog

We are lucky to have a dog that is so patient! Notice the hair clip on Cosmo in his picture with Shilah. He also endures stickers and walking around the house on a leash led by Shilah. I've said it before... this dog is a saint!

Fall is Here!

Fall is definitely here, as you can see from the yellow aspens! Actually, today it is snowing in the mountains, so maybe winter is here too! Shanti finished fencing in our play area/patio-- he did a great job! Next we need to fill it with a swing set & sand box, probably this coming spring.
Shilah is exactly 2 and a half years old today! When you ask how old she is, she says "two half!"
I've been busy helping to organize a family reunion on Shanti's side, coming up this summer. Right now I have the task of updating the contacts list, which has over 100 people! This sounds weird, but I'm actually enjoying it. I get to put my teacher organizing skills to work!
