Hanging out in Golden

Yesterday we met Uncle Gabe & family at Lions Park. The kids played on the playground, ran up & down the hill, and we took a nice walk along Clear Creek. Then we went to lunch at Einstein Bagels. It was a fun morning!

At the Play Gym

Last week we met our play group at Lily Gulch Rec Center, and had an hour of gymnastics fun! Serena wanted to do everything Shilah did, including jumping into the big foam pit.

Biker Chicks

Here are Shilah & Serena riding around in our cul-de-sac. Shilah got this awesome bike from Uncle Gabe & Aunt Andrea for her birthday, and she has finally gotten the courage to ride it around!

Playing in the Stream

We got a lot of rain in the last week or so, which means the streams are running good! We have a lot of little streams by our house, so the other day I took the girls to one for some play time. Of course Serena ended up sitting right in the middle of it. Shanti was also out of town a few days last week (Wisconsin). Shanti is the chair of a project committee composed of various industry experts, and on this trip they finalized the design guide to make small hospitals around the country energy efficient. The bottom post is video of the girls jumping all over daddy!
And I am so happy I mentored & certified my first Jazzercise instructor! She passed her audition and just completed training, and she will start teaching her routines this week.

Kids Say the Cutest Things:
The other day at dinner Shilah asked if she could have another load (helping) of broccoli. At least it wasn’t another load of ice cream!

Shilah chose an outfit the other day that had a bunch of hearts on it, then put on a pair of flip-flops that had hearts on them too. Then she told us, "I’m all hearted up!"

Little Jazzercise Instructor

Here is video of Shilah teaching Jazzercise moves to the song "Walking on Sunshine." She is yelling out "back ball change" (although she is doing a chasse), "back to the attitude" (an attitude is a leg lift with the knee turned out), "knee lift," and "lift your leg." She also yells out "good" a few times (positive reinforcement). This was completely unprompted, and I couldn't stop laughing! Afterwards Shilah exclaimed, "Boy I am sweating!"

Kids Say the Cutest Things: Shanti was telling Shilah about monster trucks, and she asked him in a totally serious voice, "So only monsters can drive them?"
