Tiny Town

Yesterday Shilah and I met some friends at Tiny Town! It's basically a miniature town with lots of little buildings, some of which kids can go into. Tiny Town has been around on and off since 1920-- that's pretty amazing!

Shilah got to ride the train that circles the "town." She also would run to wave any time it passed her by!

Deer Creek

This past weekend we went on a short hike along Deer Creek. Shilah still doesn't mind riding in the hiking backpack, which is nice! She really enjoyed throwing sticks into the creek and watching them go downstream. Her favorite part, though, was the horses and riders that crossed the stream right where she was playing!

36 weeks and counting

Well, the countdown begins! The baby is officially full-term now. I had my 36 week check-up today, and everything looks great! It looks like this will be another small baby, like Shilah. Shilah was 5 lbs 11 oz, and the doctor estimates this one is at 5 lbs 5 oz right now. I feel great! (and a little moody from time to time). This is my last week teaching Jazzercise, and then I'll continue to take class as long as I feel comfortable. We have our bags packed and in the car for the hospital since we live 40 minutes away. So any day (or week) now!

Date Night

Yesterday, Shanti and I went on what was probably our last date night before baby #2 comes! We dropped Shilah off with Uncle Gabe and Aunt Andrea, and she had so much fun with them and her cousin Emory! She played in the pool, went to the park, and of course ate better for them than she does for us :) We're lucky to have family around that Shilah adores! Shanti and I enjoyed a relaxing, long dinner at a fondue restauant called the Melting Pot-- it was delicious!

Little Bug Catcher

I bought Shilah this bug catching "kit" the other day, and she loves it! She likes to find potato bugs, lady bugs, & caterpillars. We always make sure she sets them free after we're done looking at them. I think she's following in her parents' footsteps to be a nature lover!

Baby Foxes at the Library

Aren't they cute? There's a clan of 5 baby foxes and their mom that live right behind the Evergreen Library-- you can see them really close up right from the window!
Shilah and I go to this library for story time. We also go to the Conifer library, where they have story time followed by an art project. Shilah's attention span isn't that long for the stories, but she loves doing the art! She is enrolled in a summer reading program, where she will get a free book if we read to her for a total of 8 hours by the end of July. The story times count towards it also. Happy reading!

Fun at the Water Park

Shilah and I went to Splash in Golden today! We recently joined a new playgroup of moms and kids that live near our house in the mountains, and some of us met at this water park. Shilah had so much fun going down the water slide and just hanging out in the water!

Happy Anniversary

Shanti and I celebrated our 7 year wedding anniversary this past Sunday-- it's hard to believe it's been that long. Actually, we met over 4 years before getting married, so that makes 11 years together! We went out to dinner with Shilah to celebrate, and are going on a "date" just the two of us this weekend. Shilah had a great time celebrating both Father's Day and her parents' anniversary!

Fun on Father's Day

We went to Bear Creek Park on Sunday to celebrate Father's Day. Shanti is truly a natural dad, and loves just playing and being with Shilah! Shilah had a great time playing in the water and on the slide.
