Empty Bowls

We went to our local Mountain Resource Center's "Empty Bowls" fundraiser last night. What a great event: helping local families in need, yummy soup for dinner, and the girls each chose a beautiful handmade bowl to take home!

Halloween!

The day started with a Halloween decades theme class with some of my instructors!

Then, the annual Trunk or Treat at the girls' school! This year, we 'donated' our VW van to student leadership to decorate. Student leadership consists of interested 4th & 5th graders, and Shilah loves it! They were very excited to win a pizza party-- first place!
Also, I was the Switch Witch at our school's Trunk or Treat event tonight, and had a table where kids could trade candy for non-sugar trinkets. This is part of our healthy schools initiative, and I'm so excited that it was a HUGE success! We will be donating all of the candy I accumulated to the troops, and will have an Operation Gratitude box set up all next week for kids to bring in any other candy they would like to donate.
